When redecorating your living room, the colour scheme is often the focus of the room, with wall paper, paint and soft furnishings being the main concern in the quest to create the perfect look for the room where your family may spend most of its time.

Once you have perfected the look you are after, it can almost be a shame to add in all the essential furniture and technology that goes hand in hand with modern living, particularly if you have decorated your home in a fashionable shabby chic or French antique look. Somehow your sound system and flat screen television can spoil the look and ambience you may have created if you are looking to replicate an authentic, period look. Sometimes the size of the television can be a real bone of contention between a couple, particularly if your partner is a real technology enthusiast and likes to invest in the largest wide screen television that they can find!  Suddenly, you may fear that your cosy, chic and stylish living room is going to become a shrine to the flat screen television.
