The set-up of a restaurant bar all depends on the size of the building, the theme, and of course the liquor license. Some bars are considered “service only” which mean that customers do not order directly, rather the staff places the orders themselves. Other restaurant bars offer limited or full bar menus. They also take part in happy hour which is where they get the majority of their business. If you are a restaurant owner and you are thinking about remodeling to include a full service bar, keep the following tips in mind.

1. With a difficulty rating of average, this type of project generally takes about 6-8 weeks depending on specifications.

2. First of all you want to check your liquor license agreement. Some licenses can cover all the alcohols but some are only good for beer and wine. If you are one of the contracts covering solely beers and wines you probably want to build a smaller service bar. If you are planning to serve hard liquor as well as wines and beers, you should map accordingly for a larger, full service bar.
